We're a small team building Aleya in Barcelona and London, freshly funded with a two million dollar pre-seed from US VCs, founders, and operators we respect. We expect to stay lean for a long time. Small teams ship faster, hold a higher bar, and stay close to the thing that breaks.
The work is unusually concrete. Every line of code touches a real driver standing in front of a real charger. Every conversation with an operator changes how the system behaves the next day. The feedback loop between what you build and who it affects is closed in hours, not quarters.
We hire for craft, judgement, and character, in that order. Talent matters, but we'll spend thousands of hours together, so the third one carries more weight than people usually admit. We look for people who think from first principles, hold a high bar without needing to be reminded of it, and like being close to the thing that breaks.
We believe the hard problems get solved at a whiteboard, with the person next to you. The team works in person, in Barcelona or London, most of the time.
